About 1 in 3 people with COVID-19 do not have symptoms but can still infect others. You can test for the presence of COVID-19 either by having a PCR Test or a Lateral Flow Test.
The PCR test detects the presence of the RNA of the virus itself. This means that it will pick up the presence of the actual virus in the nose and throat and is 100% sensitive to detect any trace of the virus.
Lateral Flow Tests help to check if someone has COVID-19. Research shows rapid tests are a reliable test for COVID-19. They give a quick result and do not need to be sent to a lab.
At Midway Pharmacy, we offer both the PCR Tests and Lateral Flow Tests.
RT-PCR Tests
Fit to Fly PCR Test - Onsite Test
Get tested by one of our trained healthcare professionals at your nearest Midway Pharmacy at a date and time that suits you. To opt for this service, we recommend that you book an appointment online. With this service, we offer either the same day or next day results.
Fit to Fly PCR Test - Self Test
Pick up a test kit from your local Midway Pharmacy and you can take the sample at a time that suits you, return it to the branch and we will send it to the lab for you.
Day 2 PCR Test
Take advantage of the Test to Release scheme. If your result is negative, you can end your quarantine. You can either opt for an onsite test or choose to carry out the swab yourself with our Self Test option.
Once your booking is confirmed, we will send you a link with your confirmation email to complete your details. Within 24 hours of completing this, we will then send you the code that will be required to complete your passenger locator form for return to England.
Rapid Lateral Flow Tests
Pre-Departure Fit to Fly Rapid Antigen Test - Onsite Test
If you are travelling to a country that accepts the Rapid Antigen Tests, then you can take advantage of our Pre-Departure Lateral Flow Tests. Get tested by one of our trained healthcare professionals at your nearest Midway Pharmacy at a date and time that suits you.

- At your appointment, one of our trained professionals will take your swab
- We will email your fit to fly certificate confirming your result within 2 to 12 hours

Arrival Lateral Flow Test
If you qualify as fully vaccinated for travel to England, you can choose to take a lateral flow test instead of a PCR test after you arrive. You must book the test before you travel to England.
